First Saturday Hike: History of the B&O Railroad at Monocacy

Join volunteers from the Monocacy National Battlefield Foundation for a free guided hike (30-45 min) to learn about the history of the B&O RR and its impacts on the development of the Frederick Valley with special emphasis on the Civil War period. Meet your guides at 11:00 AM at the Junction Trail (trailhead, Monocacy National Battlefield Visitors Center) or 1:00 PM at the Gambrill Mill Trail (trailhead, Tour Stop 4). Event is rain or shine. Plan accordingly.
